General description
Lysiosepalum is a genus of flowering plants comprising shrubs that are native to the southwest region of Western Australia. Members of the genus are characterized by their alternate leaves, small five‑petaled flowers, and a typical malvaceous fruit (a capsule or schizocarp). The name derives from Greek roots “lysis” (meaning “to loosen” or “separate”) and “sepalum” (referring to the sepals), likely alluding to a distinctive feature of the sepals in these species.

Distribution and habitat
All known species of Lysiosepalum are endemic to the Mediterranean‑climate shrublands and heathlands of southwestern Australia, often occurring on sandy or lateritic soils. They are adapted to fire‑prone environments and may regenerate from seed after fire events.

Recognized species
The genus contains a limited number of described species. As of the latest taxonomic synthesis, the following species are accepted:
