Lyle Lin (born September 23, 1997) is an American professional baseball catcher. He is known for his collegiate career at the University of Arizona and his time in the Milwaukee Brewers minor league system.
Early Life and Collegiate Career Lyle Lin grew up in the United States and played high school baseball. He committed to the University of Arizona, where he played collegiate baseball for the Arizona Wildcats. During his time at Arizona, Lin was a key player, primarily as a catcher, and demonstrated strong offensive and defensive skills. His performance in the Pac-12 Conference drew attention from professional scouts.
Professional Career Lin was selected by the Milwaukee Brewers in the 14th round of the 2019 Major League Baseball (MLB) draft. Following his draft, he began his professional career within the Brewers' minor league organization.
He progressed through various levels of the minor leagues, including:
- Rookie League: Played for the Arizona Complex League Brewers.
- Class A: Played for the Carolina Mudcats (now Low-A East, then Class A-Advanced).
- Class A+: Played for the Wisconsin Timber Rattlers (High-A Central).
- Double-A: Reached the Double-A level with the Biloxi Shuckers.
Throughout his minor league career, Lin primarily served as a catcher, also occasionally seeing time as a designated hitter. He spent several seasons in the Brewers' farm system, developing his skills and contributing to his respective teams before concluding his professional playing career.
