Luiz Paulo Montez Conde (August 6, 1934 – August 21, 2015) was a prominent Brazilian architect, urban planner, and politician. He is best known for serving as the Mayor of Rio de Janeiro from 1997 to 2001 and as Vice-Governor of the State of Rio de Janeiro from 2003 to 2007.
Early Life and Education
Born in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, Conde pursued a career in architecture and urbanism. He graduated from the Faculty of Architecture and Urbanism at the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro (UFRJ) in 1959.
