Ludivine Diguelman (born 15 April 1984 in Montpellier, Hérault, France) is a French professional football player who plays as a midfielder. She is best known for her long tenure with Montpellier in the Division 1 Féminine and for representing the France women's national football team.
Early Life and Youth Career
Diguelman grew up in the nearby village of Gignac. She began her football career at age six with local club AS Gignac, where she played from 1990 to 1999. She then moved to Montpellier Le Crès for the 1999–2000 season before joining the youth system of Montpellier HSC in 2000. In 2002, she was selected to attend CNFE Clairefontaine, the women's section of the prestigious Clairefontaine academy, where she spent one year before returning to Montpellier.
Club Career
Diguelman made her senior debut for Montpellier during the 2001–02 season. Upon returning from Clairefontaine in 2003, she became a regular starter, appearing in all 22 league matches and scoring six goals as Montpellier won the league title. The following season (2004–05), she again started all 22 league matches as Montpellier secured another league championship. She scored a career-high nine goals during the 2005–06 season. Diguelman helped Montpellier win the Challenge de France (the women's domestic cup) in 2006–07 and again in 2008–09. The latter season also saw Montpellier finish second in the league, earning qualification to the newly created UEFA Women's Champions League. She remained with Montpellier until 2014, becoming one of the longest-serving players at the club, having joined in 2000. In 2014, she moved to Nîmes of the Division 2 Féminine.
International Career
Diguelman represented France at the under-19 level, starring on the team that reached the final of the 2003 UEFA Women's Under-19 Championship, where they lost to Germany. She made her senior international debut on 1 June 2002 in a 2–1 victory over Ukraine during France's qualifying campaign for the 2003 FIFA Women's World Cup. Although she participated in several preparatory matches, including the Algarve Cup, she was not selected for the final World Cup squad. She was also not selected for UEFA Women's Euro 2005. Her first major tournament appearance came at UEFA Women's Euro 2009, where she was called up by manager Bruno Bini as backup to Sonia Bompastor, though she did not appear in any matches at the tournament. France reached the quarterfinals, losing to the Netherlands 4–5 on penalties. In total, Diguelman earned 39 caps for France and scored three goals, primarily in friendly matches, with some appearances in major competition qualifiers.
