Live at the Fillmore is a double live album by Derek and the Dominos, released in 1994. The album comprises recordings from the band's performances at the Fillmore East in New York City on October 23 and 24, 1970. It features extended improvisations and showcases the guitar interplay between Eric Clapton and Duane Allman, although Allman was only present at the October 23rd show.
The performances captured on Live at the Fillmore are considered by many critics and fans to be among the best live recordings of blues-rock music ever made. The album includes versions of songs from their only studio album, Layla and Other Assorted Love Songs, as well as blues standards and covers.
The album was released over two decades after the concerts took place, and after both Clapton and Allman had achieved greater individual fame. Live at the Fillmore is highly regarded for its raw energy and virtuosity, offering a glimpse into the band's short but impactful existence. Notable tracks include extended versions of "Why Does Love Got to Be So Sad," "Let It Rain," and "Stormy Monday."
