Lisa McCorkell

Lisa McCorkell is an Australian Paralympic swimmer who competed at two Paralympic Games.

Biography and Career Born with cerebral palsy, Lisa McCorkell became a prominent figure in Australian Paralympic swimming during the 1990s. She represented Australia at the 1992 Summer Paralympics in Barcelona, Spain, and the 1996 Summer Paralympics in Atlanta, United States.

At the 1992 Barcelona Games, McCorkell competed in several events in the S8 classification, notably winning a silver medal in the Women's 50 m Freestyle S8 event. She also participated in the 100 m Freestyle S8, 100 m Breaststroke S8, and 200 m Individual Medley S8 events.

She continued her Paralympic career at the 1996 Atlanta Games, competing in the S7 and S8 classifications. Her events included the 50 m Freestyle S7, 100 m Freestyle S7, 200 m Freestyle S7, and 400 m Freestyle S7, where she achieved top finishes but did not secure additional medals.
