Lincoln Park is a small urban park located in Cincinnati, Ohio, within the historic Over-the-Rhine neighborhood. It is bordered by Vine Street to the east, Republic Street to the west, 12th Street to the north, and Central Parkway to the south. The park is a key component of the Washington Park neighborhood and sits directly across from the iconic Music Hall.
Originally established in 1859 as a cemetery named “German Cemetery,” the land was converted into a public park in the early 20th century, formally dedicated as Lincoln Park in 1917. This conversion was part of a broader urban renewal project aimed at revitalizing the Over-the-Rhine area.
Lincoln Park offers a variety of amenities for residents and visitors, including a playground, a sprayground, a dog park, and green space. The park frequently hosts events and festivals, serving as a community gathering place. Its central location and accessible amenities make it a popular destination within Over-the-Rhine. The park is also home to the “Black Brigade Monument,” commemorating the African American men who volunteered to defend Cincinnati during the Civil War.
