Overview
Lietuvos Dujos was a Lithuanian natural‑gas company responsible for the transmission, distribution, and sale of natural gas within Lithuania. It operated the national gas transmission system, managed gas storage facilities, and supplied gas to residential, commercial, and industrial customers. The company functioned as a state‑owned monopoly until the liberalisation of the Lithuanian gas market in the early 2000s.
History
- 1994 – Established as a state enterprise following Lithuania’s restoration of independence, taking over the gas infrastructure previously managed under the Soviet system.

Regulatory Framework
Lietuvos Dujos operated under the supervision of the Lithuanian Energy Regulatory Council (CERT), which regulated tariffs, network access, and ensured compliance with EU energy directives concerning market competition and security of supply.
