Liam Underwood

Liam Underwood (born 20 February 1991) is a Canadian former rugby union player. He primarily played as a fly-half or fullback. Underwood represented Canada internationally in both rugby sevens and rugby fifteen-a-side, participating in the Rugby World Cup Sevens in 2013 and the Rugby World Cup in 2015.

Early Life and Club Career Born in Toronto, Ontario, Canada, Underwood began his rugby career playing for local clubs. He attended the University of British Columbia, where he played for the UBC Old Boys Ravens. His talent quickly saw him rise through the ranks of Canadian rugby. He also played for the Ontario Blues in the Canadian Rugby Championship, a national provincial competition.

International Career Underwood's international career began with the Canada national rugby sevens team. He was part of the squad that competed at the 2013 Rugby World Cup Sevens in Moscow, Russia.

His debut for the senior Canada fifteen-a-side team, known as the Canucks, came in 2013. He quickly established himself as a versatile back, capable of playing both fly-half and fullback with composure and tactical awareness.

A significant highlight of his career was his inclusion in Canada's squad for the 2015 Rugby World Cup, held in England. He featured in several matches during the tournament, providing a crucial option in the Canadian backline.
