Lewis Alessandra

Lewis Peter Alessandra (born 8 February 1989) is an English professional footballer who plays as a forward or attacking midfielder. He is known for a long career in the English Football League (EFL), particularly within League One and League Two.

Born in Heywood, Greater Manchester, Alessandra began his career in the youth system at Oldham Athletic. He made his professional debut for the club in 2007 and remained there until 2011, during which time he also spent a brief period on loan at Chester City. Following his departure from Oldham, he signed with Morecambe, where he became a consistent starter and goalscorer over two seasons.

In 2013, Alessandra joined Plymouth Argyle. During his two-year tenure with the club, he made over 100 appearances across all competitions and was a significant contributor to their offensive play. His performance at Plymouth led to a move to Rochdale in 2015, followed by a loan spell at York City.

In 2016, Alessandra joined Hartlepool United, and a year later, he moved to Notts County. His career continued with a return to Morecambe in 2019, followed by a move to Carlisle United in early 2020. After leaving Carlisle in 2022, Alessandra transitioned into non-league football, signing for South Shields and later Hyde United.

Throughout his career, Alessandra has been noted for his versatility, having been deployed as a striker, a winger, and a secondary striker. As of 2024, he has accumulated several hundred professional appearances in the English football pyramid.
