Lew Mathe (1916-2003) was an American gallerist, art dealer, and art collector. He founded the Lew Mathe Gallery in Los Angeles, California, in 1967. The gallery specialized in post-war and contemporary art, with a particular focus on California artists and abstract expressionism. Over its decades-long run, the gallery became known for showcasing emerging talent alongside established figures in the art world. Mathe was also a collector of pre-Columbian art. He was an influential figure in the Los Angeles art scene and is remembered for his discerning eye and support of innovative artists.
