Leszek Walankiewicz (born July 19, 1954) is a retired Polish professional footballer who played as a defender. He is primarily recognized for his career at Wisła Kraków, one of the most successful clubs in Polish football history.
Walankiewicz represented Wisła Kraków during the 1970s and early 1980s, a period often cited as a significant era for the club. He was a member of the squad that won the Polish Championship (Ekstraklasa) in the 1977–1978 season. This domestic success led to the club's participation in the 1978–1979 European Cup, where Walankiewicz contributed to the team's advancement to the quarter-finals. During that tournament, Wisła Kraków defeated teams such as Club Brugge and Zbrojovka Brno before being eliminated by Malmö FF.
In total, Walankiewicz made over 150 appearances for Wisła Kraków in the Polish top division. Following his tenure with Wisła, he played for other clubs, including Hutnik Kraków.
After retiring from professional play, Walankiewicz remained involved in football, serving in various coaching, scouting, and administrative roles, primarily within the Lesser Poland (Małopolska) region. He is frequently cited in historical records of Polish football for his defensive contributions during the late 20th century.
