Lego Masters is a British reality competition television series in which teams compete to build the best Lego projects. The programme is produced by Tuesday's Child and originally aired on Channel 4.
Overview
The series premiered on 24 August 2017 and was originally hosted by Melvin Odoom. It was judged by Matthew Ashton, Vice President of Design at the Lego Group, alongside structural engineer Roma Agrawal (series one) and scientist Fran Scott (series two). After a hiatus, a Christmas special aired on 24 December 2022, hosted by Nish Kumar and judged by Ashton and Amy Corbett (from the American version of Lego Masters). The 2022 Christmas special was filmed in Warsaw, Poland, on the set of Poland's Lego Masters, and co-produced by Endemol Shine Polska.
Format
Pairs of amateur Lego builders from across the UK and Ireland compete in a series of challenges designed to test their creativity, technical skill, and storytelling ability. Each episode typically includes an "unplanned build" (a surprise challenge) and a "planned build" (which teams can prepare for in advance). Builds are evaluated by the judges based on technical excellence, realism, and a playful "wow-factor." The worst-performing teams are eliminated each episode until a winner is crowned.

Series 1 (2017)
Aired from 24 August to 14 September 2017. Eight teams competed. The series was won by Nate Dias and Steve Guinness, who received a brick trophy and had their work displayed at the Lego Museum in Billund, Denmark. Runners-up Nicholas and Kobe also had their work exhibited at the museum.
Series 2 (2018)
Aired from 6 November to 4 December 2018. Eight teams competed. The series was won by Paul and Lewis, with Izzy and Stuart as runners-up. A Christmas special aired on 11 December 2018, featuring six young builders from previous series paired with celebrities.
2022 Christmas Special
A Celebrity Lego Masters at Christmas special aired on 24 December 2022, hosted by Nish Kumar.
International Adaptations
The format has been sold internationally to multiple countries, including Australia, the United States, New Zealand, Germany, France, Sweden, Finland, Denmark, the Netherlands, Belgium, and Poland.
Reception
The series received strong reviews and drew positive comparisons to The Great British Bake Off. Critics praised the show's warmth and the impressive quality of the builds.
