Born in Swindon, England, Harrison began his senior career with Swindon Town, although he did not make a first‑team league appearance for the club. He subsequently joined Gillingham in 1992, where he made over 150 league appearances and scored several goals. After leaving Gillingham in 1998, Harrison signed for Exeter City, contributing to the team’s defensive line for two seasons before retiring from professional play.
