Michele released her debut studio album, Louder, on March 3, 2014, through Columbia Records. The album debuted at number four on the Billboard 200 and featured the singles "Cannonball" and "On My Way."
Her second studio album, Places, was released on April 28, 2017. Unlike her debut, which leaned toward mainstream pop, Places was noted for its theatrical and vocal-centric influences. It peaked at number 28 on the Billboard 200.
On October 25, 2019, Michele released her third studio album and first holiday-themed record, Christmas in the City. The album featured a mix of traditional holiday covers and an original track.
Her fourth studio album, Forever, was released on November 5, 2021. This project is a lullaby album consisting of covers of various contemporary and classic songs, intended for children.
Cast Recordings and Soundtracks
Michele's commercial success is significantly tied to her role as Rachel Berry on the musical comedy-drama series Glee (2009–2015). As part of the Glee cast, she contributed to numerous albums and singles, many of which achieved high positions on global charts. In addition to Glee, Michele is featured on the original Broadway cast recording of Spring Awakening (2006).
