Early Life and Education
Layla Moran was born on 12 September 1982 in Bournemouth, Dorset, England. She attended Exeter School, an independent day school, before enrolling at the University of York, where she earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in History and Politics. She subsequently completed a Master of Science in Global Development at University College London (UCL).
Political Career

Early Involvement: Moran joined the Liberal Democrats while at university and became active in local party affairs. She stood as a candidate in the 2005 general election for the constituency of Somerton and Frome, finishing in third place.

Member of Parliament: In the 2017 United Kingdom general election, Moran was elected as the Member of Parliament (MP) for Oxford West and Abingdon, succeeding former Liberal Democrat leader Sir Vince Cable. She retained the seat in the 2019 general election.
