Laura Elena Zúñiga Huizar (born January 3, 1985) is a Mexican model and beauty queen who gained international notoriety in late 2008 due following her arrest on charges related to organized crime.

Arrest and Controversy On December 22, 2008, Zúñiga was arrested in Zapopan, Jalisco, by the Mexican Army and federal police. She was apprehended alongside seven men, including her boyfriend, Ángel Orlando García Urquiza, who was identified as the brother of a notorious Juárez Cartel leader. The group was found in two vehicles, allegedly carrying high-caliber weapons (including AR-15 rifles), ammunition, and approximately $53,000 in U.S. currency. Authorities accused Zúñiga of being involved with drug trafficking and organized crime, specifically linking her to the Sinaloa Cartel.
