Definition
Lasse Schöne (born 30 July 1986) is a Danish professional footballer who primarily plays as a midfielder. He has represented Denmark at senior international level and has played for clubs in the Netherlands, England, and Denmark, most notably Ajax Amsterdam.
Overview
Schöne began his senior career with FC Copenhagen before moving to Dutch club Heerenveen in 2008. In 2010 he transferred to Ajax, where he became a regular starter and contributed to multiple domestic league titles and cup victories. After seven seasons with Ajax, he joined English Premier League side Newcastle United in 2017. Following Newcastle’s relegation, Schöne signed for Fulham in 2019, helping the club achieve promotion back to the Premier League. He returned to Ajax in 2021 and later played for FC Copenhagen again before retiring from professional play. Internationally, Schöne earned 20 caps for the Denmark national team between 2012 and 2019, scoring three goals.
