Laetitia Bégué

Laetitia Bégué (born 18 July 1978) is a retired French judoka. She is primarily recognized for her representation of France at the 2000 Summer Olympics in Sydney, Australia.

Early Life and Career

Born in Bordeaux, France, Laetitia Bégué developed an early interest in judo. She competed successfully in various national junior and senior championships, establishing herself as a prominent figure in French judo in the late 1990s.

International Competition

Bégué specialized in the half-lightweight (‍–52 kg) category. Throughout her career, she participated in numerous international tournaments, including European championships and World Cups, earning valuable experience and enhancing her international ranking.

Olympic Games

Her most significant athletic achievement came with her selection to the French national team for the 2000 Summer Olympics held in Sydney. In the women's half-lightweight event, Bégué advanced to the quarter-finals before being defeated. She then competed in the repechage rounds, ultimately securing a 7th-place finish in her category.

Post-Athletic Career

Following her Olympic participation and continued involvement in competitive judo for a few more years, Laetitia Bégué retired from professional competition.
