Kyle Segebart

Kyle Segebart (born June 22 1987 in Winter Haven, Florida, United States) is an American former professional soccer player and current soccer coach. He played as a defender and has held various coaching positions in collegiate soccer, most recently with the University of Central Arkansas Bears.

Early life and education
Segebart grew up in Dayton, Ohio, where he attended Northmont High School and played youth club soccer for CGSA Strikers, Dayton Galaxies, and Ohio Elite SA. He began his collegiate playing career at the University of Rio Grande in 2005 before transferring to Cedarville University, where he competed for the Cedarville Yellowjackets from 2006 to 2008. He completed his college eligibility at Shorter University, playing for the Shorter Hawks in 2009.

Playing career
During his college years, Segebart also participated in the USL Premier Development League (PDL), appearing for several clubs:

  • Cascade Surge (2007) – 13 appearances
  • Mississippi Brilla (2008) – 5 appearances
  • Cincinnati Kings (2009) – 13 appearances, 2 goals

He turned professional with the Dayton Dutch Lions, playing in the USL Professional Division from 2010 to 2011. Segebart made his professional debut on April 16 2011 in a match against Charleston Battery. He later had a stint with Island Bay United in New Zealand and was associated with Team Wellington, though detailed statistics for this period are limited.

Coaching career
Following his playing career, Segebart transitioned to coaching, beginning as an assistant with the Midland Warriors in 2010. He served as a volunteer assistant for the Dayton Flyers in 2011 and held assistant coaching roles with the Franklin Grizzlies (2012–2013) and the Saginaw Valley State Cardinals (2014–2015), including an interim head‑coach appointment in 2015. He returned to Dayton as a volunteer assistant (2015–2016) before joining the Western Washington Vikings as an assistant coach from 2017 to 2021.

In February 2022, Segebart joined the coaching staff of the Central Arkansas Bears men’s soccer program as an assistant coach. As of 2025, he has been promoted to head coach of the Central Arkansas Bears.

Segebart is noted for his height (6 ft 4 in / 1.93 m) and defensive versatility on the field. His career reflects extensive experience across U.S. collegiate and semi‑professional soccer, as well as international exposure in New Zealand.
