Kurbanlı, Çat

Kurbanlı is a neighbourhood (mahalle) in the municipality and district of Çat, Erzurum Province, Turkey. It is located in the Eastern Anatolia Region (Doğu Anadolu Bölgesi) of Turkey.

Administrative History: The settlement's name is recorded as "Erzani" in 1916 records. Previously, it was a village attached to the Çerme sub-district of Kiğı district in Bingöl Province. On 23 June 1964, it was transferred to the Çat district of Erzurum Province. Following Erzurum's designation as a metropolitan municipality in 1993, and with the enactment of Law No. 6360 in 2012, all villages in the province had their legal personalities abolished, and Kurbanlı became a neighbourhood of the Çat Municipality.

Geography: The neighbourhood lies at an elevation of approximately 2,044–2,079 metres above sea level. It is situated 78 km from the Erzurum provincial center and 26 km from the Çat district center. It is connected to the D.950 state highway (Erzurum–Bingöl / Çat–Karlıova route) via a 16.1 km village road passing through the Kaplıca and Parmaksız neighbourhoods.

Population: As of 2022, the population was 287. Historical population figures show a declining trend: 521 (1965), 622 (1985), 381 (1990), 260 (2000), 320 (2007), and 292 (2021).
