Kristiina Salonen

Kristiina Salonen (born 1977) is a Finnish politician representing the Social Democratic Party of Finland (SDP). She has served as a Member of the Finnish Parliament (Eduskunta) for the Satakunta constituency since 2011.

Early Life and Education Kristiina Salonen was born in 1977. Prior to her political career, she worked as a practical nurse (lähihoitaja), which has informed her focus on social and health policy in her political work.

Political Career Salonen began her political career in municipal politics, serving as a member of the Rauma City Council since 2005.

In the 2011 Finnish parliamentary election, Salonen was elected to the Eduskunta from the Satakunta constituency. She has since been re-elected in subsequent elections (2015, 2019, and 2023), maintaining her seat in parliament.

As a Member of Parliament, Salonen has focused on issues related to healthcare, social services, and regional development, often drawing on her professional background in the health sector. She has been an active member of several parliamentary committees, including those dealing with social affairs and health, as well as administrative affairs.
