Kohl Stewart

Kohl Stewart (born October 7, 1994) is an American former professional baseball pitcher. He played in Major League Baseball (MLB) for the Minnesota Twins, Baltimore Orioles, and Chicago Cubs.

Stewart was born in Houston, Texas, and attended St. Pius X High School in Houston. He excelled in both baseball and football, initially committing to play college football as a quarterback at Texas A&M University before ultimately deciding to pursue a professional baseball career.

He was selected by the Minnesota Twins as the fourth overall pick in the 2013 Major League Baseball draft. Stewart began his professional career in the Twins' minor league system, gradually progressing through various levels. He made his MLB debut for the Minnesota Twins on August 12, 2018. He appeared in eight games for the Twins during the 2018 season, recording a 2-1 win-loss record with a 6.18 earned run average (ERA).

In December 2019, Stewart signed a minor league contract with the Baltimore Orioles. He made his Orioles debut in the pandemic-shortened 2020 season, appearing in two games and posting a 10.38 ERA before being released in September 2020.

Stewart then signed a minor league contract with the Chicago Cubs in January 2021. He pitched in seven games for the Cubs during the 2021 season, recording a 2.70 ERA over 6.2 innings. He was designated for assignment by the Cubs in August 2021.

Stewart announced his retirement from professional baseball in March 2022. Throughout his career, he was known as a right-handed pitcher who primarily threw a fastball and a slider.
