Kleneč

Kleneč is a municipality and village in the Litoměřice District in the Ústí nad Labem Region of the Czech Republic.

Geography Kleneč is situated approximately 7 kilometres (4 mi) north of Litoměřice and 13 km (8 mi) south of Ústí nad Labem, the regional capital. The village lies on the left bank of the Elbe River, within a generally flat and agriculturally rich plain. While the municipality's territory extends into the České středohoří Protected Landscape Area, the village core itself is located in the low-lying river valley.

Administration Administratively, Kleneč is part of the Litoměřice District, which falls under the jurisdiction of the Ústí nad Labem Region. It functions as an independent municipality and does not comprise any other administrative villages or hamlets within its boundaries.

History The earliest known written record mentioning Kleneč dates back to the year 1318.
