Kimmo Yliriesto

Kimmo Yliriesto (born May 24, 1983) is a Finnish former ski jumper. He competed professionally from 2000 to 2011, representing Finland in numerous international competitions, including the FIS Ski Jumping World Cup.

Career

Yliriesto made his debut in the FIS Ski Jumping World Cup during the 2000–2001 season. Throughout his career, he was a consistent presence on the World Cup circuit, known for his technical style.

His most significant individual World Cup result was a 4th-place finish in Kuopio, Finland, in March 2005. He was also part of the Finnish team that secured a victory in a World Cup team event held in Kuusamo, Finland, in November 2001. Yliriesto participated in the FIS Nordic World Ski Championships on multiple occasions, contributing to the Finnish team.

Beyond the World Cup and World Championships, Yliriesto achieved notable success at the Winter Universiade. At the 2007 Winter Universiade in Turin, Italy, he won a gold medal in the individual normal hill competition and a bronze medal in the team event.

Retirement

Kimmo Yliriesto retired from professional ski jumping in 2011.
