Kim Krizan is an American screenwriter and actress, most notably recognized for her contributions to the Before film trilogy directed by Richard Linklater. She co-wrote the screenplays for Before Sunrise (1995) and Before Sunset (2004). For her work on Before Sunset, she shared an Academy Award nomination for Best Adapted Screenplay with Linklater, Ethan Hawke, and Julie Delpy.
Krizan's involvement with Linklater's work began with a role in the independent film Slacker (1991). She also appeared in and contributed dialogue to the animated feature Waking Life (2001). Beyond her work in cinema, Krizan has written for comic books, including contributions to the Zombie Tales series, and authored the book Original Sins: A Guide to Entertainment and Devotion (2012). She has also served as an educator, teaching writing at various institutions.
