Khaya Zondo (born 24 October 1990) is a South African cricketer who has represented the South Africa national cricket team in all three international formats—Test, One Day International (ODI), and Twenty20 International (T20I). Primarily a right‑handed middle‑order batsman, Zondo also bowls occasional right‑arm off‑break.
Early life and education
Zondo was born in Durban, KwaZulu‑Natal, South Africa. He attended Westville Boys' High School, where he distinguished himself in school‑level cricket, leading to his inclusion in provincial age‑group teams.
Domestic career
Zondo made his first‑class debut for Kwa‑Zulu Natal in the 2007/08 season. He has been a regular member of the Dolphins franchise in South African domestic cricket, competing in the Sunfoil Series (first‑class), Momentum One Day Cup (List A), and CSA T20 Challenge. Over his domestic career, he has scored multiple centuries and has been among the leading run‑scorers for the Dolphins in several seasons. Zondo has also played for various franchise teams in South Africa’s domestic T20 competitions, including the Durban Heat in the Mzansi Super League.
International career
One Day Internationals
Zondo made his ODI debut for South Africa on 9 February 2012 against New Zealand at Nelson. He has played intermittently in the limited‑overs side, often serving as a utility batsman and occasional off‑spinner.
Twenty20 Internationals
His T20I debut came on 11 February 2012, also versus New Zealand. Zondo has been selected for South Africa’s T20 squads primarily as a middle‑order option, contributing with both bat and fielding.
Test cricket
Zondo earned his Test cap on 2 March 2017 in the third Test of South Africa’s series against the West Indies at Johannesburg. He has appeared in a limited number of Tests, generally batting in the lower middle order.
Playing style

His off‑spin is used sparingly, often to break partnerships in limited‑overs matches. In the field, he is commonly positioned in the outfield or at mid‑wicket, noted for his catching ability.
Personal life
Zondo is married and has children. Off the field, he has been involved in community outreach programs in Kwa‑Zulu Natal, promoting cricket development among youth.
