Definition
Kevin Peter Hall (January 19 1955 – April 16 1991) was an American actor and stunt performer best known for portraying the titular alien in the 1987 science‑fiction film Predator and for playing the creature Harry in the 1979 television series Harry and the Hee‑Hee.
Overview
Born in Milwaukie, Oregon, Hall stood 4 feet 7 inches (140 cm) tall due to achondroplasia, a form of dwarfism. He began his career in the late 1970s, appearing in minor television roles and commercials. Hall achieved widespread recognition in 1986 when he was cast as the Predator, a physically demanding role that required him to perform in a full body suit and execute complex stunt work. The character’s imposing presence and Hall’s performance contributed significantly to the film’s success and the Predator’s status as an iconic figure in popular culture.
Following Predator, Hall continued to work as a character actor and stuntman, appearing in Big Top (1988), Willow (1988) (as a dwarf actor), and the television series The A‑Team and Knight Rider. He also portrayed a mutant in the 1990 film The Bounty Hunter. Hall’s career was cut short by his premature death at age 36 from complications related to AIDS.
