Kevin Ingreso (born October 10, 1993) is a Filipino professional footballer who plays as a defensive midfielder or centre-back for Chonburi F.C. in the Thai League 1 and for the Philippines national team. Known for his versatility, work rate, and tactical awareness, Ingreso has been a key player for both club and country throughout his career.
Early Life and Youth Career
Born in Hamburg, Germany, to a Filipino father and a German mother, Ingreso began his football journey in the youth academies of German clubs. He spent time with the youth systems of Hamburger SV, VfB Lübeck, and SV Drochtersen/Assel, developing his skills and gaining experience in competitive environments before moving into senior football.Club Career
Ingreso started his senior career in Germany, playing for VfB Lübeck and SV Drochtersen/Assel. In 2015, he made the move to the Philippines, joining Global FC (now Global Cebu FC) in the United Football League (UFL), the top-tier league at the time. His performances quickly established him as one of the league's prominent midfielders.In 2017, Ingreso signed with Ceres–Negros FC (later renamed United City FC), a move that coincided with the formation of the Philippines Football League (PFL). He became an integral part of the team's dominant run, winning three consecutive PFL titles in 2017, 2018, and 2019. He also helped Ceres–Negros win the Copa Paulino Alcantara in 2019 and achieve significant success in the AFC Cup.
In 2019, Ingreso moved to Thailand, signing with Ratchaburi Mitr Phol F.C. in the Thai League 1. He spent three seasons with the club before joining BG Pathum United F.C. in 2022, where he participated in the AFC Champions League. After a loan spell with Samut Prakan City F.C. in 2023, he moved to Chonburi F.C., continuing his career in the Thai top flight.
International Career
Ingreso made his debut for the Philippines national football team, known as the "Azkals," in 2015. He quickly became a regular fixture in the squad, earning praise for his disciplined performances in midfield.He represented the Philippines in multiple editions of the AFF Suzuki Cup, including the 2016 and 2018 tournaments. Ingreso was also a vital member of the squad that qualified for and participated in the AFC Asian Cup in 2019, the country's first-ever appearance in the continental showpiece. He played in all three group stage matches for the Azkals in the tournament.
Ingreso has scored several important goals for the national team, including one against North Korea in 2016 during a World Cup qualifier and another against Singapore in the 2018 AFF Suzuki Cup. His leadership and consistent performances have made him a respected figure within the national team setup.
