Cry of Love Martin gained significant recognition as the drummer for Cry of Love, a blues-rock band formed in Raleigh, North Carolina, in the early 1990s. The band featured Kelly Holland on vocals, Audley Freed on guitar, and Robert Kearns on bass. Their self-titled debut album, Cry of Love, was released in 1993 and achieved commercial success with singles like "Peace Pipe," which received substantial airplay on rock radio. Cry of Love released a second album, Diamonds and Debris, in 1997 before disbanding.

Pinnick Gales Pridgen (PGP) In the 2010s, Martin joined forces with Doug Pinnick (bassist and vocalist of King's X) and guitarist Eric Gales to form the supergroup Pinnick Gales Pridgen, often abbreviated as PGP. This trio combined elements of hard rock, funk, and blues, showcasing the formidable talents of all three musicians. PGP released their self-titled debut album in 2013, followed by PGP2 in 2014. Martin's drumming provided a solid and dynamic foundation for the improvisational and heavy sound of the band.
