Ken McFadden (1966–2023) was an American basketball player, primarily recognized for his standout collegiate career at Cleveland State University. Often referred to by the nickname "Mouse," McFadden was a key figure in the university's basketball program during the mid-to-late 1980s.
McFadden is most notable for his role in the 1986 NCAA Division I men's basketball tournament. As a freshman point guard, he helped lead the 14th-seeded Cleveland State Vikings to the Sweet Sixteen, a run that included a significant first-round upset over the 3rd-seeded Indiana University. Over his four-year tenure at Cleveland State (1985–1989), he became one of the program's most decorated players, earning multiple all-conference honors in the Association of Mid-Continent Universities (AMCU). He finished his college career as the school's all-time leading scorer, a record he held for several decades, and his jersey number 10 was eventually retired by the university.
Following his collegiate career, McFadden played professionally in various leagues. He competed in the United States Basketball League (USBL) for the Miami Tropics and had an extensive career abroad, playing in international leagues in countries such as Greece, Argentina, and the Philippines.
After retiring from professional basketball, McFadden remained active in the Cleveland community, focusing on youth coaching and basketball clinics. He died in April 2023 at the age of 57.
