Ken Eyre

Ken Eyre (born 18 September 1937) is a former English professional rugby league footballer who played in the 1950s, 1960s, and 1970s. He was a prominent centre and spent the majority of his career with Hull FC, also representing Great Britain at international level.

Playing Career

Eyre began his professional career with Hull FC in 1956, quickly establishing himself as a key player in the team's attack. He spent 14 seasons with the club, making over 300 appearances and scoring numerous tries. During his time at Hull, he was part of a highly successful era, contributing to the club's dominance in the late 1950s and early 1960s. He was known for his strong running, defensive capabilities, and intelligent playmaking from the centre position.

Towards the end of his career, Eyre had a brief stint with Castleford before retiring from professional rugby league.

International Honours

Ken Eyre earned six caps for Great Britain between 1960 and 1962. A significant highlight of his international career was being a member of the Great Britain squad that won the 1960 Rugby League World Cup.
