Kelly Smith (born 29 October 1978) is an English former professional footballer who played as a forward. She is widely regarded as one of the most accomplished players in the history of English women's football.

Overview
Born in Bermondsey, London, Smith began her senior club career with Charlton Athletic before moving to Arsenal Ladies in 1999, where she spent the majority of her playing years. During her tenure at Arsenal, she helped the club dominate domestic competitions, securing multiple FA Women's Premier League titles, FA Women's Cups, and a UEFA Women's Cup (now the UEFA Women’s Champions League) in 2007.

Internationally, Smith earned 117 caps for the England women’s national team, scoring 46 goals, making her the nation's leading scorer until the record was later surpassed. She also represented Great Britain at the 2012 London Olympic Games. After stints with several other clubs, including a return to Charlton Athletic and a final spell at Notts County, she retired from professional football in 2015.

Smith’s contributions to the sport have been recognized with numerous individual honors, such as the FA Women’s Player of the Year award (2000, 2005, 2006) and her induction into the English Football Hall of Fame in 2015.
