Keikyu N1000 series

The Keikyu N1000 series is an electric multiple unit (EMU) train operated by Keikyu Corporation, a private railway company in Japan serving the Greater Tokyo Area. The series was introduced in 2021 to replace aging train sets on Keikyu's network, particularly the older 1000 series. Manufactured by Kawasaki Heavy Industries and Nippon Sharyo, the N1000 series features a stainless-steel body, energy-efficient LED lighting, regenerative braking, and updated passenger information systems.

The trains operate primarily on Keikyu's main line and through-services to other railways, including the Toei Asakusa Line and parts of the Keisei network. They are designed for 1,500 V DC overhead electrification and run in 6-car or 8-car configurations depending on service requirements. The N1000 series includes longitudinal seating, wheelchair spaces, and multi-language passenger announcements to accommodate both local and international travelers.

The design emphasizes modern aesthetics, improved accessibility, and enhanced safety features, including surveillance cameras and emergency intercoms. The N1000 series is part of Keikyu's broader fleet modernization initiative aimed at increasing reliability and passenger comfort.
