Kassim Aidara (born 12 May 1987) is a Senegalese-French former professional footballer who played as a midfielder.
Early Life and Youth Career
Aidara was born in Hamburg, West Germany. He began playing football in Hamburg during his youth, at clubs including SC Concordia. He is the elder brother of Mohamed Aidara, who is also a footballer.
Professional Career
Aidara's senior career spanned several countries. He started with Wellington United of New Zealand, and subsequently represented lower-league German clubs, including Niendorfer TSV, USC Paloma, and Lüneburger SK Hansa.
In December 2011, Aidara signed with Estonian club Tallinna Kalev. After scoring four goals there, he transferred to Sillamäe Kalev in July 2012. During the 2013 season, he scored 17 goals in 34 matches. He moved to FCI Tallinn the following year. He later returned to Sillamäe Kalev in 2016.
In October 2017, Aidara signed with Indian I-League side Minerva Punjab. He debuted for the club on 25 November 2017 in a 1–1 draw against Mohun Bagan and scored his first goal on 11 December in a 2–1 victory against Chennai City. He won the 2017–18 I-League championship with Minerva Punjab. He joined East Bengal for the 2018–19 season thereafter.
Honours
Individually, Aidara was named Meistriliiga Player of the Month for August 2013. His team honours include winning the 2017–18 I-League with Minerva Punjab.
