Kamaro (also known as Goth Kāmāro) is a village and deh (revenue unit) in Tando Bago Taluka of Badin District, Sindh, Pakistan. As of the 2017 census, it had a population of 1,471 people, living in 348 households. It is part of the tapedar circle of Dadha. The village is located at coordinates 24°58′16″N 69°08′01″E.
Tando Bago (Sindhi: ٽنڊو باگو) is a Tehsil (Taluka) and a town in Badin District, Sindh, Pakistan. The Tehsil covers an area of 1,688 square kilometers and had a population of 426,535 as of the 2023 census. The town of Tando Bago itself had a population of 17,546 as of 2017. It is located on the left bank of the Shadiwah canal and is connected by road with Hyderabad, Wanga Bazar, Khairpur, Pangrio, Badin, and Nindo Shaher. Tando Bago was founded around 1734 by Mir Bago Talpur, and his descendants, the Bagani branch of the Talpur dynasty, remained prominent residents. The town is home to a prominent Sheedi community. Notable figures from Tando Bago include the poet and educationist Muhammad Siddique Musafir. The main tribes in the area include Talpur, Halepota, Sheedi, Soomro, Rajput, and many others. Approximately 85 percent of residents are native Sindhi speakers.
Badin (Sindhi and Urdu: بدين) is the main city and capital of Badin District in Sindh, Pakistan. It lies east of the Indus River and is the 105th largest city in Pakistan, with a population of 117,455 as of 2023. Badin is often called the "Sugar State" due to its production of sugar. Badin District was established in 1975 and comprises five Talukas: Badin, Matli, Shaheed Fazal Rahu, Talhar, and Tando Bago. The district covers 6,726 square kilometers and had a population of 1,947,081 as of 2023. The majority religion is Islam (74.45%), followed by Hinduism (25.11%). The district is predominantly Sindhi-speaking (93.85%). Badin was historically a center of Sufi culture and was the site of the Shah Qadri Mela festival. The district is largely agricultural, with main crops including sugarcane, rice, tomato, wheat, and sunflower. Badin's oil fields produce nearly 50% of Pakistan's total crude oil output. The district also contains the Badin Coal Field, with estimated reserves of approximately 1.358 billion metric tons of coal.
