Kaleigh Rafter

Kaleigh Rafter (born August 18, 1986) is a Canadian softball player and coach. She was born in Guelph, Ontario, Canada, and stands 184 cm (6 ft 0 in) tall.

Career

Rafter has been a member of the Canadian women's national softball team since 2007. She represented Canada at the 2008 Summer Olympics in Beijing, where the team finished fourth. She was also named to Canada's 2020 Olympic team (held in 2021 in Tokyo), where the team won the bronze medal.

Rafter has represented Canada at four Pan American Games: 2007, 2011, 2015, and 2019, winning medals at all four events. This includes a gold medal at the 2015 Pan American Games in Toronto, and silver medals in 2007 (Rio de Janeiro), 2011 (Guadalajara), and 2019 (Lima).

At the Women's Softball World Cup, Rafter has won bronze medals in 2010 (Caracas), 2016 (Surrey), and 2018 (Japan).

Collegiate Career

Rafter began her collegiate playing career at the University of Detroit Mercy in 2006. Over three seasons with the Titans, she was twice named Horizon League Player of the Year and earned All-Region selections by the National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA).

Coaching Career

Rafter transitioned into coaching after her playing career. She served as a volunteer assistant coach at Florida State University before being promoted to assistant coach prior to the 2024 season. She also completed the International Coaching Enrichment Certificate Program (ICECP), becoming the first Canadian coach to do so. As of recent reports, she serves as the Head Coach of the Canadian Women's National Softball Team.
