Kabarore

Kabarore is a town and sector in the Eastern Province of Rwanda. It serves as the administrative headquarters of Gatsibo District. Geographically, Kabarore lies at the western edge of Akagera National Park, approximately 60 kilometres (37 mi) west of the international border with Tanzania and about 43 kilometres (27 mi) north of Kayonza along the Kayonza–Nyagatare Road. The town’s coordinates are 1° 37′ 16″ S, 30° 23′ 06″ E, at an elevation of roughly 1,540 metres (5,050 ft) above sea level.

The sector covers an area of 210.3 km² (81.2 sq mi). According to the 2022 census, Kabarore had a total population of 71,769 inhabitants, resulting in a density of about 341 people per km² (884 people per sq mi). Of this figure, approximately 15,290 residents are classified as urban.
