Kılıç-class fast attack craft

The Kılıç‑class fast attack craft is a series of missile‑armed patrol vessels operated by the Turkish Navy. The class is derived from the German Lürssen “MEKO 120” design and was constructed under license in Turkey during the late 1980s and early 1990s.

Development and construction

  • The program was initiated to replace older fast attack vessels in Turkish service and to provide a modern, high‑speed platform for anti‑ship and surface‑warfare missions.

The hull incorporates a planing‑type form for high speed, and the water‑jet propulsion provides reduced acoustic signature and high maneuverability in littoral waters.
