Juris Lauciņš (14 March 1947 – 23 April 2013) was a Latvian stage and film actor. Born in Riga, then part of the Latvian Soviet Socialist Republic, he pursued acting after graduating from the Latvian Academy of Culture. Lauciņš became a prominent member of the Dailes Theatre troupe, where he performed in a wide repertoire of classical and contemporary productions.
In addition to his theatre career, Lauciņš appeared in numerous Latvian and Soviet films and television series. Notable screen credits include roles in "The Devil's Bride" (1978), "Golosok" (1986), and the Latvian television series "Mesti" (1995). He was recognized for his versatility, portraying both dramatic and comedic characters.
Lauciņš received several awards for his contributions to Latvian performing arts, among them the Latvian National Theatre Award and the Order of the Three Stars, one of Latvia’s highest civilian honors.
He remained active in the performing arts until his death in Riga in 2013, after a brief illness. His legacy is noted for the breadth of his work across theatre, cinema, and television, as well as for mentoring younger actors within the Latvian artistic community.
