Julia Polak

Julia Polak (1960 – 28 May 2014) was an Argentine-born British surgeon, biomedical researcher, and academic who made notable contributions to the fields of regenerative medicine and tissue engineering.

Early life and education

  • Born in Buenos Aires, Argentina, Polak earned her medical degree (M.D.) at the University of Buenos Aires.
  • She later moved to the United Kingdom, where she completed specialist surgical training and pursued doctoral research, obtaining a Ph.D. in molecular biology.
