Jugezhuang (simplified Chinese: 巨各庄镇; traditional Chinese: 巨各莊鎮; pinyin: Jùgèzhuāng Zhèn) is a town located in the Miyun District of Beijing, China. It is situated in the southeastern part of Miyun District, in a mountainous region at the foothills of the Yan Mountains where they meet the plains.
Geography: The town borders Mujiayu and Taishitun Towns to the north, Dachengzi Town to the east, Dahuashan and Dongshaoqu Towns to the south, and Henanzhai Town to the southwest. It covers a total area of approximately 110.5 square kilometers (42.7 sq mi), with an elevation of about 93 meters (305 ft).
Population: As of the 2020 census, Jugezhuang had 22,032 residents within its borders.
Name origin: The name "Jugezhuang" (巨各庄) literally means "Ju Family's Village," derived from Jugezhuang Village, which serves as the seat of the town's government.
History: The area underwent several administrative changes over time:
- 1958–1962: Weixing People's Commune, under Miyun County, Beijing
- 1962–1981: Tangzi People's Commune
- 1981–1983: Jugezhuang People's Commune
- 1983–1990: Jugezhuang Township
- 1990–2015: Jugezhuang Town (under Miyun County)
- 2015–present: Jugezhuang Town (under Miyun District, after Miyun County was upgraded to a district)
Administrative divisions: As of 2021, Jugezhuang Town administers 3 communities and 26 villages, including the central Jugezhuang Village (巨各庄村).
Transportation: The Beijing–Chengde railway passes through the town, providing rail connectivity. The Beijing-Chengde Expressway also runs adjacent to the area, with exits near Caijiawa Village and Shachang Village.
