Joseph Enzweiler

Early Life and Education Born in Covington, Kentucky, Joseph Enzweiler grew up in Northern Kentucky. He pursued higher education, earning a Bachelor of Science degree from Xavier University and subsequently a Juris Doctor (J.D.) from Salmon P. Chase College of Law (now part of Northern Kentucky University). After completing his legal studies, he practiced law in the Commonwealth of Kentucky.

Political Career Enzweiler was first elected to the Kentucky House of Representatives in 1986, representing the 68th District, which includes portions of Campbell County. During his nearly two decades in the legislature, he became known for his expertise in financial matters and local government issues. He served on several key committees, including:

  • Appropriations and Revenue
  • Education
  • Judiciary
  • Local Government

He was particularly influential in shaping legislation related to state budgets, public education funding, and property tax reform. Enzweiler was a respected voice for his constituents and worked collaboratively across party lines on numerous issues. Later Life and Death After his retirement from the legislature, Enzweiler continued to reside in Fort Thomas, Kentucky. He passed away on March 21, 2009, at the age of 71. He was survived by his wife, Carole Enzweiler, and their children.
