José Rodrigo Aréchiga Gamboa (born 13 March 1984 in Culiacán, Sinaloa, Mexico) is a Mexican former high‑ranking member of the Sinaloa Cartel, widely known by his alias “El Chino Ántrax.” He served as a personal security chief and enforcer for Ismael “El Mayo” Zambada, one of the cartel’s top leaders.

He was subsequently charged with drug trafficking and sentenced to five years’ imprisonment by a Dutch court. While serving his sentence, he attempted a prison escape in 2015, an incident that resulted in the death of a fellow inmate.
Extradition to the United States
Following the completion of his Dutch sentence, Aréchiga Gamboa was extradited to the United States in July 2020 to face federal charges of drug trafficking, money laundering, and possession of firearms in furtherance of a drug‑trafficking enterprise.
