José Germain Drouilly (Paris, 8 April 1884 – 4 March 1964), more commonly writing under the name José Germain, was a French writer, novelist, playwright, journalist, and historian.
Biography
Born in the 11th arrondissement of Paris in 1884, Drouilly wrote under several pseudonyms, including José Germain, Jean-Germain Drouilly, and Lieutenant D. He served as an infantry captain in the French reserve army and was president of the Association des écrivains combattants (Association of Combatant Writers). He was also a member of the Académie française.
Literary Work
Drouilly authored a prolific body of work, with more than 200 titles listed in the Bibliothèque nationale de France. His writings spanned novels, historical works, war chronicles, and plays. Some of his works were adapted into silent-era film scripts, most notably The Magnificent Flirt (1928), which was based on his novel Maman.

José Germain Drouilly died on 4 March 1964 in Neuilly-sur-Seine, France.
