José Carlos Granero Granero (born 27 May 1963) is a Spanish football manager and former professional player. During his playing career, he operated primarily as a defender.
Granero began his professional career in the youth system of Valencia CF, eventually graduating to the first team and appearing in La Liga during the early 1980s. He later represented several other Spanish clubs, including Recreativo de Huelva, CD Alcoyano, and Benidorm CF, before retiring from active play.
Following his retirement as a player, Granero established a career as a coach, managing a wide range of clubs within the Spanish football league system. He is particularly noted for his work in the Segunda División and Segunda División B. His managerial history includes tenures at Levante UD, Alicante CF, CD Castellón, Deportivo Alavés, Real Oviedo, and SD Ponferradina. Throughout his coaching career, he has been credited with achieving promotions for several of the teams he led, most notably guiding Alicante CF and SD Ponferradina to higher divisions.
In addition to his domestic coaching experience, Granero has worked internationally. He held a coaching role within the youth and reserve structures of the Chinese club Guangzhou City FC (formerly Guangzhou R&F). His career is characterized by extensive experience in the technical direction of professional football teams across several decades.
