Jorge Mas Santos (born February 28, 1963) is an American billionaire businessman, the chairman and largest shareholder of MasTec, a Miami-based construction and engineering company founded by his father, Jorge Mas Canosa. He is also the managing owner of Inter Miami CF, a Major League Soccer (MLS) team, the chairman of the Cuban American National Foundation (CANF), and the president of Real Zaragoza, a Spanish football club.
Early Life and Education
Mas was born in Miami, Florida, to Jorge Mas Canosa and Irma Santos. His father was a prominent Cuban-American businessman and political activist who fled Cuba in 1960 and became a leading voice against the Castro regime. Mas attended the University of Miami, earning a Bachelor of Business Administration in 1984 and a Master of Business Administration in 1985 from the University of Miami School of Business.
Career
Mas began his career in 1984 at Church and Tower, the predecessor company to MasTec. He co-founded Neff Corporation (NYSE: NFF), a provider of rental construction and utility equipment, in 1990; the company was sold in 2005 for a reported $510 million.
He is the chairman of MasTec (NYSE: MTZ), a publicly traded infrastructure construction and engineering firm. He also serves as managing partner of a private equity group with investments spanning aviation, banking, commercial real estate, healthcare, and fixed income trading. He has served on over a dozen corporate boards and has lectured on entrepreneurship, corporate strategy, and leadership.
Cuban American National Foundation
Mas is chairman of the Cuban American National Foundation (CANF), an organization founded by his father in 1981. He has taken a more moderate stance on U.S.-Cuba relations compared to his father, who was a staunch opponent of Fidel Castro's government.
Sports Ownership
In 2018, Mas became the managing owner of Inter Miami CF, an MLS expansion team co-founded with David Beckham. The team began play in 2020. In 2023, Mas played a key role in securing the signing of Argentine soccer star Lionel Messi to Inter Miami. He is also the president of Real Zaragoza, a Spanish football club.

Mas serves as executive director of the Mas Family Foundation, which manages a $5 million endowment supporting educational and charitable causes.
