Jordan Taylor (born February 16, 1992) is a former American football wide receiver. He played college football at Rice University and was signed by the Denver Broncos as an undrafted free agent in 2015. He was a member of the Broncos team that won Super Bowl 50.
Early Life and College Career Taylor attended Westfield High School in Houston, Texas, where he played football. He then committed to Rice University, where he played for the Owls from 2010 to 2014. During his collegiate career, he became one of the most productive wide receivers in school history, setting records for career receptions and receiving yards. As a senior in 2014, he recorded 64 receptions for 778 yards and three touchdowns.
Professional Career
Denver Broncos Taylor went undrafted in the 2015 NFL Draft but was signed by the Denver Broncos. He spent his rookie season on the practice squad. In 2016, Taylor made the active roster and saw playing time, appearing in 13 games and recording 16 receptions for 142 yards. He became known for his reliable hands and his size. During his time with the Broncos, quarterback Peyton Manning famously nicknamed him "Sunshine" due to his blond hair and resemblance to the character from the movie Remember the Titans.
He continued to be a contributor for the Broncos in 2017, playing in all 16 games and catching 13 passes for 148 yards and one touchdown, his first career NFL score. He spent the 2018 season on injured reserve due to hip surgery.
Later Career After his tenure with the Broncos, Taylor signed with the Minnesota Vikings in 2019 but was released before the start of the regular season. He later had a brief stint with the Carolina Panthers in 2020. Taylor announced his retirement from professional football in 2021.
