Johnny Nilsson (born 4 July 1943) is a Swedish former professional ice hockey player. A forward, he is most recognized for his significant career with Västra Frölunda IF (now Frölunda HC) in the Swedish top-tier league, Division 1, during the 1960s and 1970s. Nilsson was a pivotal member of the Västra Frölunda team that secured its first Swedish Championship title in 1965. He also represented the Swedish national ice hockey team, Tre Kronor, in international competitions.
Playing Career Johnny Nilsson commenced his professional ice hockey career in the early 1960s with Västra Frölunda IF. He quickly became a standout player known for his offensive skills, including scoring and playmaking. His time at Västra Frölunda culminated in the 1964–65 season, when the club won its inaugural Swedish Championship, defeating Brynäs IF in the final. Nilsson was instrumental in this historic achievement. He continued to be a key offensive contributor for Frölunda for several seasons, consistently ranking among the team's leading scorers. Following his tenure with Västra Frölunda, Nilsson also played for other teams, including Bäcken HC.
International Representation Nilsson's talent also earned him a place on the Swedish national team, Tre Kronor.
