John A. Yudichak (born March 27, 1963) is an American politician who served as a member of the Pennsylvania General Assembly for over two decades. His tenure includes service in both the Pennsylvania House of Representatives and the Pennsylvania State Senate.
Early life and education
John Yudichak was born in Scranton, Pennsylvania. He graduated from Wilkes University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration.
Political career

Pennsylvania House of Representatives (1995–2006)
Yudichak was first elected to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives in 1994, representing the 122nd legislative district, which covers parts of Lackawanna County. He served six consecutive terms, focusing on issues such as education, labor, and regional economic development. -
Pennsylvania State Senate (2007–2022)
In 2006, Yudichak won election to the Pennsylvania State Senate for the 32nd district, succeeding fellow Democrat Junior V. L. P. He was reelected in 2010, 2014, and 2018. While serving in the Senate, he held positions on several committees, including Appropriations, Education, and Judiciary. -
Party affiliation
Yudichak was elected as a Democrat and served the majority of his legislative career under that affiliation. In November 2020, he announced a change of party registration to the Republican Party, citing disagreements with the Democratic leadership and alignment with his policy positions. He completed the remainder of his Senate term as a Republican. -
Later career and retirement
Yudichak did not seek reelection in the 2022 cycle. Following his departure from the Senate, he has remained active in community and civic affairs within his home region.
